Apprarent Density
It is the mass per unit volume of the powder in the natural accumulation state, usually expressed in g/cm³; Apparent density is a comprehensive reflection of a variety of properties of powder, powder metallurgy, mechanical parts production process stability, and product quality control are very important, but also the basis of mold design. There are three methods to measure the bulk density of powder: funnel method; Scott volumetric method; Vibrating funnel method. There are many factors affecting the bulk density of powder, such as particle shape, size, surface roughness and particle size distribution. Usually these factors are significantly different because of difference in the preparation method of powder and its process conditions. Generally speaking, the bulk density of powder decreases with the decrease of particle size, the increase of particle nonsphericity coefficient and the increase of surface roughness.
Average Particle Size
Average Particle Size,if an actual particle group composed of particles of different sizes and shapes is compared with an imaginary particle group composed of uniform spherical particles, the diameter of the spherical particle is said to be the average particle size of the actual particle group.
μm
μm, pronounced (miu), micron, unit of length. A micron is a unit of length, symbol [micron]. A unit of length in the micron metric system [1]. A micron is one millionth the length of a meter, and one thousandth of a millimeter. It is usually used to measure the length of small objects. Micron techniques are used to define systems with physical feature sizes approaching 1μm.
Mesh
Mesh is the number of holes per inch of screen mesh. 50 mesh means 50 holes per inch, and 50*50=2500 holes per square inch. 500 mesh means 500 holes per inch, and 500*500= 250,000 holes per square inch. The higher the number of eyes, the more holes. In addition to representing the holes of the screen, it is also used to express the particle size of the particles able to pass through the screen, the higher the mesh number is, the smaller the particle size is. American standard is now adopted in China.
Metal Powder
Metal powder refers to a group of metal particles with a size less than 1mm. Including single metal powder, alloy powder and some refractory metal compounds powders with metallic properties, they are the main raw materials of powder metallurgy. Metal elements are generally silver-white. It will be black powder when the metal is under certain conditions, Most metal powders are black.
Alloy Powder
Metal powder formed by partial or complete alloying of two or more components. Alloy powders are classified according to their composition into iron alloy powder, copper alloy powder, nickel alloy powder, cobalt alloy powder, aluminum alloy powder, titanium alloy powder and precious metal alloy powder.
Brazing refers to a welding method in which the brazing materials lower than the melting point of the weldment and meanwhile the weldment heated to the brazing materials that after melting temperature , and then used the liquid brazing materials to fill the gaps between the solid workpieces to connect the metals. Firstly the oxide film and oil stains on the contact surface of the base metal be removed to facilitate the capillary function after the solder melts and increase the wettability and capillary fluidity of the solder when brazing. According to the different melting points of solder, brazing is divided into hard soldering and soft soldering.
Brazing Materials
Solder is a general term for metal alloy materials used to fill welds, surfacing layers and brazing seams. Including welding wire, welding rod, welding powder, solder paste, welding sheet, welding ribbon, brazing and soldering alloy, etc.
Brazing powder
Brazing powder is a powdery material that improves the weldability during high-temperature welding of metals and alloys. By dissolving the solder powder, it improves the fluidity of the material surface. The general ingredient is borax. Can be called flux.
Solder Paste
Solder paste is a homogeneous mixture composed of alloy solder powder, paste flux and some additives. It is a paste with certain viscosity and good thixotropy. It is a homogeneous, stable mixture. solder paste can initially stick electronic components to a specific position at normal temperature. When the solder paste is heated to a certain temperature, as the solvent and some additives evaporate and the alloy powder melts, the solder paste reflows, causing the components to be soldered to adhere to each other. The solder pads are interconnected together and cooled to form a permanently connected solder joint.
