SKD61 hot-work tool steel powder
SKD61 is equivalent to H13, a hot-work mold steel conforming to the JIS standard. TIJO employs an atmospheric atomization process to produce pre-alloyed powders, which are widely used in molds operating under high-temperature conditions, such as die-casting dies and hot-forging dies.

Particle Size Specifications & Physical Properties
| Particle size specification | D10(μm) | D50(μm) | D90(μm) | Loose packing density (g/cm³) | Tap density (g/cm³) | Flowability (s/50g) | Oxygen content |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15–53 μm | 17-23 | 30-35 | 50-58 | ≥3.90 | 4.4-4.9 | ≤25 | ≤500ppm |
* D10/D50/D90, loose‑packed and tapped densities, and flowability are provided as typical range values; the specific values shall be determined by the COA for each batch. The flowability of ultrafine powder (≤25 μm) is assessed using a powder rheometer.
Heat Treatment Process Reference
| Heat treatment stage | Process parameters | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Stress-relief annealing | 850℃ ± 10℃, hold for 30 min, then cool slowly to 650℃ at a rate of 10℃/h, followed by air cooling. | Eliminate forming or printing residual stresses |
| Quenching | 1045℃ ± 10℃, hold for 30 min, quench in high-pressure gas or warm oil. | Obtains a martensitic microstructure, with hardness reaching HRC 53.4. |
| Tempering | 580–650°C, twice × 2 h | Select the tempering temperature based on the target hardness. |
